Genital Warts: Home Remedies vs. Prescription Treatments

Genital warts (also known as venereal warts, condylomata acuminate, anogenital warts or anal warts) are a kind of lesions that grow on or around the genital area of the body.

Genital warts come up in clusters and are clearly seen with the eyes. This kinds of warts are commonly passed from a sexual partner that has it to the other partner while engaged in unprotected sex. The easiest way of avoiding this kind of wart is to prevent sexual encounter with those infected.

Home Remedies used to treat warts with the prescription treatment

  1. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an efficient method which is used to treat genital warts. All you need to do is to dip cotton wool in the apple cider vinegar and apply it on the surface of warts. Leave it overnight and wash it off in the morning.

  1. Duct Tape

This might sound strange, but duct tape can be used to remove genital warts. All you need to do is to take a piece of tape and cover warts with the tape and leave it for six days. After removing the tape, you can rub the surface with an emery board, and you can repeat this procedure until warts fall off.

  1. Castor Oil

Castor oil might have this unpleasant smell, but it can be used to remove genital warts. Just soak cotton wool in the oil and place it on the wart and then use a tape to make it stick onto warts. Change the cotton wool at least thrice a day.

  1. Vitamin E oil

To use Vitamin E oil on warts, you rub the oil gently on the affected part and then put a gauze which is used in surgical dressing to cover it. Repeat this until warts disappear completely. If the oil is not available, you can squeeze the liquid from the Vitamin E capsule and apply it on warts.

  1. Onions

It is one of the most efficient remedies to treat warts. All you need do is to take a few slices of onions and use gauze to tape it on warts. Repeat this treatment every 3-4 hours.

  1. Pineapple juices

Take some fresh pineapple pieces and grind them well to extract the juice. After extraction, pour some liquid on a cotton wool and place it on warts for ten minutes and then wipe it off after ten minutes. Repeating this two times daily is one of the surest therapies ever known to the cure of Genital Warts.

  1. Baking Soda

Take a spoonful of baking soda and mix same with castor to form paste. Apply on warts covered with a bandage. Repeat this procedure two times in a day for three weeks.
