There are some simple and easily available home remedies that can be used to get rid of warts and they involve the use of few and simple ingredients.
The remedies include the following:
Home Remedy #1: Garlic
According to a study published in the International Journal of Dermatology, garlic is a viable method for wart removal. Garlic helps to fight against the virus causing the infection and it is even used as a remedy for curing cancer, skin disorders, and stress e.t.c.
What you need is five drops of garlic oil and one teaspoon of olive oil. Mix the garlic oil and olive oil together, in a container, and apply the oil on warts and cover it up with a bandage, leaving it for like 15 to 20 minutes.
After removing the bandage, you rinse the area with warm water, and repeat this treatment twice a day for a week. The use of garlic is very effective.
Home Remedy #2: Milkweed
Milkweed is considered a good solution for warts. The sap present in this weed contains an enzyme which helps to dissolve the abnormal skin growths but this milkweed contains mild toxins like Cardiac glycoside, and as such, one has to be cautious when using this remedy.
In this case, milkweed should be kept out of reach of children and pets. All you need do is to use a pumice stone to gently rub the top layer of the wart and apply three drops of milkweed sap, and then cover it and leave for about 10 minutes before you wash it off.
Irritation might occur and if it occurs, it is advisable you stop this remedy.
Home Remedy #3: Duct Tape
The use of duct tape is an inexpensive method, and all you need to do is to use this duct tape to cover the wart and leave for approx days or a week and then remove the tape.
After removing the tape, put a wet towel on top of the area and then gently rub the wart with a pumice stone.
Apply the duct tape again and leave for like 24 hours. Repeat this step until warts fall off. It may be painful during removal of the duct tape.
Home Remedy #4: Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a highly useful nutrient for the skin which helps to improve the overall health of the skin. The highly acidic nature of vitamin C helps to destroy and fight the virus, and this takes off the physical structure of the wart.
To use Vitamin C as a remedy, take one tablet of vitamin C and grind into powder.
Add few drops of fresh lemon juice to the ground powder and make a paste. After making a paste, apply the paste on the wart and cover it with a bandage and for best result, use it once daily.
Home Remedy #5: Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera gel has this natural hydrating and healing properties. Pure Aloe Vera gel is a useful natural remedy to get rid of Warts without causing any side effects or stinging. Aloe Vera gel has this anti-inflammatory property which helps in treating warts and healing any skin damage.
If there is an Aloe Vera plant in your house, just cut a leaf and apply few drops of the raw gel on warts and then wrap the area with a bandage or a clean cloth.
You can buy the natural Aloe Vera gel at any nearby drug stores if you don’t have the plant at home.
